Guest guest
Hi I read that Licorice Root can lower male testosterone and dopamine and is dangerous at doses exceeding 100mgs, I guess it's doesn't lower t levels at 100mgs . Does you friend on the other pssd message board know this. At the end of the day there are know certainties ,and maybe the studies done on it are false. Guest guest
Who knows. I am skeptical of most supplements anyways. What works for one person makes thing worse for another. I wish there was a better answer but basically I feel like we are shooting in the dark when taking supplements or things like wellbutrin for PSSD. It sucks but we don't really know whats wrong - so everything we try is basically just a guess. If we're lucky its an educated guess but I feel like half the time its not even that. > > > > > > > > I have just found this text on one of the websites. > > > > > > " If a patient continues to ingest a particular SSRI-antidepressant over a prolonged period of time, eventually the body's Adrenal Glands may lose their efficiency and " Adrenal Exhaustion Syndrome " will be the end > > result. Guest guest
I hope something works. This is no way to live. I've been talking to an attractive girl that last few days on the phone who I know wants to have sex. She always hints at us spooning and how that leads to something else and talking about me coming over. Not to be a perv but I was trying to masturbate for her over the phone and couldn't get fully erect qnd couldn't get aroused and felt very little pleasure because of the genital numbness. I hope I don't make a fool of myself if I try to have sex and I can at least please her even if I can't feel pleasure. Wow, I sound so pathetic for a 26 yr old man! I don't know why I replying to this post with this, but it sucks. I am just venting.
Guest guest
Dude I was recently in the same position as you. My advice, try and pleasure her the first time. Later have a frank discussion with her about your issue. While I know PSSD is not psychological, when I was stressed out about not being able to get erect I had even more trouble. Once I spoke to her about it I relaxed some and I was able to get at least a moderate erection (with the help of cialis) and actually penetrate. It sucks. It really really sucks, but I believe from paying attention to those who have recovered over the past 3 years, its generally been those who attempt to have a relationship again anyways. Good luck to you! The girl I was with ended up being really nice about it. You cannot hide the issue, its better just to discuss it. People do recover, and those who are dating/attemping to have sex seem to recover more often. You could even tell her that. I know your pain, I am 27 and I would never wish PSSD on anyone, and feel it is especially hard for us young men who are expected to have no problems in bed. > > I hope something works. Guest guest
I'm pretty much impotent is seems. Tried to get an erection with porn today and completely failed! My genitals feel extremely cold and lifeless. It's getting cold where I live and it seems the cold weather is making my genitals even more cold and numb. Even my feet have the numb, cold feeling. Sort of like an icy hot feeling in my genitals and feet. I have a feeling that Zoloft has caused me to have low testosterone and I really need to get my levels checked. Something is veryyyyy wrong with me and if it's not low testosterone or in some way related to hormone levels I have a feeling of impending doom. > > > > I hope something works. Guest guest
how long have you been off the drugs? I think my circulation improved some over time but I still have ED 3 years off. That said I have seen several people recover during my time with PSSD. If you are only a few months or a year off you still have a good chance of seeing improvements. By the way, if you do have low T there is a lot you can do to fix it naturally. I completely got mine back to normal over the course of a year through exercise, diet, and zinc. T replacement has its own side effects. If you are low normal (250=350 range) don't go there. > > > > > > I hope something works. This is no way to live. Guest guest
It's been about 5 months since I've been off Zoloft. Hopefully I can see improvement. I do exercise several times a week but it doesn't seem to be helping. I feel weaker during exercise. I can just tell. 250-350 testosterone level is "normal" for a man much older than me. 600-700 is normal for my age. Testosterone levels may not even be my problem anyway. I will have to find this out.
Guest guest
, Don't lose hope. I haven't read all of your postings so I don't know exactly what you've tried yet. But there is always a way to improve your lot. I highly recommend seeing a sexual medicine specialist, like Dr Irwin Goldstein. He's up to date on all of this stuff and really wants to help patients get better. I am not an advocate of the sit and wait it out position. Get motivated, and take hold of your situation. There's a lot of solutions out there if you're willing to try them. Hormones, viagra, cialis, cabergoline, injections, etc. There IS a way for you to get your sex life back. Don't lose hope. Reach out to a doc like Goldstein asap and start moving forward. I know you'll feel better once the ball is in motion - and you'll physically improve over time. -M > > > > > > I hope something works. Guest guest
. True about side effects of testosterone therapy but that said a 250 to 350 total testosterone level would be low for a 100 year old! Here is a chart of normal for age ranges. www.mens-hormonal-health.com/normal-testosterone-levels.html Remember that when they say something is low end of normal it basically means that some old guy who didn't die in the following month had a reading in that range. Low T is terrible for overall health. In the last year I have exercized, eaten healthy and lost 40 pounds and I am still at 270 total testosterone for a 40 year old male. I take ZMA supplements and some others to aid testosterone but barely have helped. I have an appointment with an endocrinologist in November. Is this going to be the answer to all of my problems? I doubt it, but if we have used SSRI's AND have terrible testosterone levels it would be stupid not to see what occurs if our testerone levels are normal. At least then we know that it is only the PSSD that is ailing us and not something else. To me it is common sense to look into what is causing this Low T. I don't think any of us, after what we have been though, want to go on more doctor prescribed medication and therapy from big Pharm. I do want some answers about the source testosterone level problems and proceed accordingly. No harm in being proactive to see what ails us and why. I'm with you that testosterone therapy should be a last resort. No doubt. Good Luck to everybody. Mike candacr@... Guest guest
Hi With me I can get erections most of the time with porn but the sensations are dull and orgasm is joyless. I get little pyschological pleasure that I guess gives me an erection . I would say my libido is 50% out of 100. For me it's the loss of sensations, what chemicals are responsible for sensations . Guest guest
Hi Mike, Our cases might be different. All I am saying is between zinc, a healthy diet, intense exercise, and attempting to date again my T levels shot back up to higher than 700 from 338 a little over a year ago. I definitely notice a difference in both my emotional state and libido although no change at all with my erections. Look into clomid instead of T replacement. I was considering doing it for some time and consider it superior for guys with mid range low T. It gets your body to produce it again, and doesn't reduce fertility. > > > > > > > > I hope something works. Â This is no way to live.
