Hello there - very pleased to hear you have some answers, whether

they are what you wanted to know or not. Did the doc give you an

idea on the risk/success percentage of going another band and it

working for you this time? You will know in yourself what the right

thing for you to do is and I wish you all the best with that decision

and the outcome. Keep us posted on how you are doing with it all.

Take care

Ciao

vibes that have been flowing my way.

this paragraph.

> I was banded nearly two years ago and lost 38 kgs only to find I

had not ever reached that sweet spot place and that there were

hassles with the restriction of my VG band. At one stage I had

12.5mls in the band and still could eat the horse and jockey. I lost

my motivation at this point and slowly put on 10kgs - just could not

maintain the dieting that I needed in order to get through it all.

> After careful deliberation went and had a second opinion and

a " flight " plan was put into place - I needed to know what was going

on. Today I had an endoscope (gastroscope) and it was found that I

have a pouch 4 to 5cms bigger than the normal 1cm pouch that most

banders have - so that explains why I could always eat double the

amount than other banders. Because this pouch was so much bigger

than most peoples I have had a much larger stomach and this inturn

has made the walls of my oesophagus floppy.

>

> Basically I have a massive decision to make. If I am rebanded to

making sure I have a 1cm pouch area there is absolutely no guarantee

that anatomically I will land up in a better place because I now have

floppy muscle walls in the area - it could work but it could well be

that I end up in the same place as I am now.

> Second choice is a gastric by-pass. Five times more riskier but

with definite results at the end of it all.

> So dear ones, with this choice - I am going to bed early to sleep

on it!!

> Again a warm thank you to everyone!
