Guest guest
Carl, LOL...hmmm...I don't know what to say except my husband would probably disagree. Of course, I can't let him know I can do everything, because then I'd HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING, right? Well, my uncle told me peach trees only last so long...and I just couldn't believe that a tree would be self-eliminating like that...it didn't seem natural..but he's probably right...they probably only produce to a certain age...kinda like women, right??? Guest guest
We had some family named French who lived in Montana. Your last name intrigues me. I don't know how common a name it is but they were relatives on my maternal grandfather's side. Jane
Guest guest
Beth, you're absolutely right. and I've been told that in about 20 years time the average lifespan of a North American woman will be a hundred years. Now if we could only get a peach tree to live as long we be doing ok. I think a tree of any kind will die off soon if it is not taken care of. Some house plants have a tendency to die sooner than others and some people think that it's their fault, and it's not. The plant has just lived a full life at two years or three years or whatever. I once saw a cartoon in a Womens World magasine which a woman told her girl friend that her computer could do the work of five men or one woman. Beth, I would like your confirmation on this. Is it really true? I eagerly await your answer. Guest guest
Carl, Well I like you better and better each time you post. You certainly are an "enlightened man." Here's your answer: One woman can operate 5 computers simultaneously...by multitasking...and she may be breast feeding at the same time. And 5 men can operate 4 computers, with one man overseeing the other 4 Do you agree??? Guest guest
Beth, for once in my life I think I have met my match. If the lady is breastfeeding at the same time as she is using five computers at the same time, doesn't that make the baby a trainee, since she (it's probably a she) is doing it with her mother. The man overseeing the other four is probably a college graduate and has four degrees. You need at least four degrees to do that. I know a man who has five and he would probably be the supervisors boss if he had'nt gone broke. Any way I think we maybe on to something here. There should be more women bosses and supervisors. Businesses would be more profitable and less Crap going on. Can you imagine what the House of Commons would be like if all the MP's were women? Guest guest
ya I would. I once Phoned a female colleague at home and she happened to be in the hot tub at the time and had had a little too much to drink. I had booked holidays over the Christmas holidays and she had to work. When I told her my situation she said was going to spank me and I asked her if that was a promise. She said the same thing as you so you must know each other. Do you know anybody by the name of January? Guest guest
Beth, I am a recently turned 55 yr old (Monday) profesional steel worker and also an Independent business owner and am planning to retire in 1 - 2 yrs after my sister buys my dad's house. I am presently between wives(LOL) but working on someone. She keeps playing hard to get. I also just recently bought a duplex which I live in and rent the upstairs to a young lady with 3 kids and a baby. the property had been vacant for about 2 years and also had a " slight " water problem due to a domestic situation that I will not sadden you with. The second last owner was a little git paranoid and had guns in every room in the house. He also erected a steel wall at the back of the house embedded in cement about 8' high. Everybody in the neighborhood calls it the fortress. That makes me the " king of the fortress. " My Dad lives in the east end of Toronto and I get to see him at least every few weeks. We are a very close knit family and are in touch every 2 to three days. Your life sounds very idyllic. You must feel very blessed at the life you lead. tC Carl in Hamilton > >Reply-To: thefatmanwalking_group >To: thefatmanwalking_group >Subject: RE: AW: AW: AW: re & Peach Trees >Date: Thu, 13 Apr 2006 08:08:04 -0700 (PDT) > >Carl - > I taught History and Technology in Texas Public Schools. Guest guest
Dear Beth, just an afterthought. Did you ever read a book by Zane Pilzer who is an economist who wrote a book called The Next Trillion which is about the changes in the way our economy and our healthcare system is changing. A big part of the changes are technology based. We are also living longer due to the health and wellness improvements. Your lifestyle sounds very healthy and I detect no sense of stress, which is a big influence in our lives.
