Guest guest
A very interesting article. Just think, for over 30 years or so the public was hoodwinked into believing that depression was a physical illness caused by low serotonin and it was never ever true. Tons of science was done on this theory and yet it was all crap. I remember arguing with people when I first tried an antidpressant saying to them that I did not have a brain disorder, but everyone disagreed with me as they were so sold this theory. Some of these people had been on medication for years and told me they can't function without them which to them was proof that they had a biological illness. Really? They were just addicted but doctors had told them that this was not possible with antidpressants. Below, G A Fava, a consultant psychiatrist who was the first to discover that antidepressant drugs seem to making most people more prone to depresssion rather than curing them, says that the marketing behind antidepressants is in par with 2nd World War propaganda. Long-Term Treatment with Antidepressant Drugs: The Spectacular Achievements of Propaganda, G A Fava.http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/519-papers-by-dr-ga-fava-long-time-critic-of-antidepressants/ And guess what. I have had a slot of stress recently due to my job and my girlfriend suggseted I try another antidepressant. Well, I just went through the roof. I have told her that they don't work, that they make depression worse in the long run, that they cause diabetes, heart and liver disease. I have told her about the cramping I got, and the dreadful twiching along with a sensation of 1000's of tiny insects crawling through my body which went on for years after stopping the meds which scared the living daylights out of me. And guess what she said to that, 'but you could try another one which might work. You need to try a few before you find the right one for you'. So you can see what we are up against. Despite what has happened to me - and we have never had sex - she still thinks that antidepressants are effective drugs that are good for most people and do no harm. If I can't convince her no wonder the general public isn't bothered The propaganda has been that successful. Guest guest
Hi CNS It's really the high serotonin in synapse that causes sexual dysfunction, low or depleted sertonin shoudn't effect sexual function. To: SSRIsex Sent: Friday, February 17, 2012 7:53:06 AM Subject: Re: SSRIs Markedly Deplete Brain Serotonin Here's the study on PubMed which includes the e-mail address of one of the authors FJ Bosker in The Netherlands in case anyone wants to contact them regarding PSSD, also those who developed PSSD from suddenly quitting the SSRI. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20946930 FJ Bosker has also been involded in other studies regarding SSRIs: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term=%22Bosker%20FJ%22%5BAuthor%5D It would be interesting if they could carry out a study in rats to see what happens to other neurotransmitters like dopamine, norepinephrine, GABA, Glutamine, etc. in the rats when the SSRI is suddenly withdrawn/stopped. >> http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/mad-in-america/201011/new-rat-study-\> ssris-markedly-deplete-brain-serotonin> <http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/mad-in-america/201011/new-rat-study\> -ssris-markedly-deplete-brain-serotonin>>

Guest guest
I'm tired of hearing people say " its really high serotonin in the synapse " . I personally believe that is bullshit. If you think about it logically, we were taking something that was pumping in serotonin from an outside source which probably stops some production of our own natural serotonin. When you remove it you will be left with less serotonin than what you started with. Lots of people on here still have symptoms of depression and anxiety which are symptoms of low serotonin. Why did I get some libido back when I took Buspar? Buspar gives more serotonin to the 5-HT1A receptors which the article talks about being depleted from SSRIs. > > > > http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/mad-in-america/201011/new-rat-study-\ > > ssris-markedly-deplete-brain-serotonin > > <http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/mad-in-america/201011/new-rat-study\ > > -ssris-markedly-deplete-brain-serotonin> > > >
Guest guest
Hi CNS I guess that's you buddy, when I took Lexapro I noticed sexual dysfunction after 14 hours after, joyless orgasm and loss of sensation. I have been free of SSRIs for well over 2 years and feel less sexual side effects being off, I have low anxiety , I just feel flat. These are all Signs of high serotonin is a synapse, serotonin is a sexual killer, dopamine is the sex chemical. If anything I still have to much serotonin and the mechanism of action didn't stop working when I quit the nasty pills. You think when people Take SSRIs and notice sexual side effects after a day, it's because Serotonin is to fucking low, when u jack up serotonin it causes awful sexual dysfunction . MDMA - hikes up serotonin and people on it can't always orgasm, and are numb because it makes u last longer because of the overload of serotonin. Amphetamines raise sexual drive, sensation because they raise Dopamine. PSSD is high serotonin, or else I would have my crazy anxiety and sexual pleasure back. To much serotonin in the hypothalumus. The deppression could be because people are low on dopamine. Guest guest
There is no sweet spot, Humans are not mice, rats, or rabbits etc, are brains are more complex. When A Heterosexual male dog is horny he might hump another male , female or a human leg etc. lol I think lower sertonin just means a higher sex drive and to much serotonin reduces sex drives for Gays, Bisexual, heterosexual etc. I am pretty sure a Gay individual Taking SSRIs will remain gay. If anything SSRIs may make u more feminine by reducing Testosterone in my opinion however one chemical can't completely flip a person's sexual orientation. The sad part is they test drugs on mice which don't even use 1 percent of there brain, Yes Mice have a sexual preference-urge however it's less important to them, they may think a male is a female if they have a high sex drive which mask there senses. There sexual procreating urge is more intense than humans and less complex. The reason people have so many awful side effects on SSRIs is because Scientist think the Brains of mice are closely related to Humans which I don't think is true, my sources are that SSRIs fuck nearly everybody up who use them, sexual side effects, weight gain, emotional changes etc. To: "SSRIsex " <SSRIsex > Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2012 11:59:47 AM Subject: Re: Re: SSRIs Markedly Deplete Brain Serotonin http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/notrocketscience/2011/03/23/low-serotonin-mice-less-choosy-about-sex-of-partners/ Low serontonin makes you gay/bi, high serontin makes you like females, wheres the sweet spot for libido? Anxiety is more than just low serotonin etc, and PSSD is more than just high serotonin in my opinion. You could have a fair amount of serotonin and still have mental problems.
