Dee, from what I understand, samples are not required to be labeled as a

regular product. I have seen many samples without any ingredient listing.

I used to sell AVON. The individual sample packages do not have

ingredients listed on them; however, the box they come in does. Never had

a customer ask, but I could just give them the little box if they were

interested. Maybe that's how AVON get's around the packaging laws? The

reps have access to the ingredient list and can then pass that along to the

customers who ask.

Yup, AVON samples are free, and it is so stated on the package. " Not for

Individual Sale " , or something like that.

Dee,

Actually the FDA has a small package exemption that allows the manufacturer

to post the ingredient listing on a 'tear-off' pad instead of the primary

package. Where or not the Avon representative had the information available

as required is another story.

Pat,

Note my answer to Dee regarding this. The FDA has a small package exemption

that allows manufacturers to provide the ingredient listing on a separate

'tear-off' sheet or pad.

Maurice,

I think that the correct name for the FPLA is Fair Packaging and Labeling

Act ;-)

Well, finally able to read the rest of these on the web. Sigh.

Good point about those tear off tabs. Guess I should call the

FDA to ask about it. Thanks for that thought .
