Well, the problem is that Viread is the new drug, and we all know that

many problems turn up only after a drug is in clinical use. While I

did change from Zerit to D4t, I'm sort of thinking about changing back.

I am concerned about renal toxicities and resistance issues. I know

investigators that don't believe that Viread should be used as a

first-line drug, either, after all, the first horse out of this box,

Adefovir, was a nighmare.

It's not that I think Zerit is so fucking wonderful. I think all the

drugs have problems.....but sometimes, the devil you know is better

than the one you don't know. We are not making choices between ice

cream and hemlock; we are between a rock and a hard place.

JB,

I guess It is too early how Viread go well with other medicines. I

just started take it two months ago after disconnect Zerit. I feel

fine for now and I am not sure about long term side effect of Viread.

but One guy take Viread for two years now there's no side effect

unless he have to watch what he eat and execrise regular. I keep look

out on my blood test lab result every three months. Keep everyone

posting..

i agree that you should be vigilent. Some people can take a drug that many

others can't. It is a very individual treatment, and no two people will have

the same response or side effects. I was put on a Zerit combo and told that

I won't live 3 months, after having extreme sickness and 0 Tcells for over 3

years. I am here today because I gave it my all, including prayer, and I

don't miss any doses. I am lucky enough to have no side effects at all from

the combo that works for me and I am alive and healthy.

In the end, take charge of your treatmet and find the right combo for you,

listen to your body and do what you think you should. In our case, a

doctor becomes the one to give information and you should decide based on

the information you get from them and others, and your individual situation.

And although I know that Zerit is what is causing my lipo, I won't stop

taking it. Why mess with something that works? You can seek out help for

correcting what lipo has done to you, wait a few more years until things are

approved in the us, or change your drug reg. you just have to ask yourself

what is more important. I think it is worth the wait. I would be sad if I

found out that someone died because they were distraught over their looks

and they stopped treatment.
