Still, I have never heard of weight gain of this magnitude from protease inhibitors. That doesn't mean that there isn't something going on with you. It sounds like you have a combination of problems, severe weight gain, lipodystrophy, and perhaps, you are already genetically predisposed to the " metabolic syndrome, " further complicating weight distribution. How ever difficult it is, I would really suggest you try to lose that weight, and I would suspect you are a perfect candidate for the Atkin's diet. I would certainly think that that might help. As for the medications, I really don't like two drugs combos. While they may work for now, I would guess that the long term failure rate is higher.
