Guest guest
HBO Documentary - Premieres Tuesday, February 21 at 10pm (ET/PT). http://www.hbo.com/docs/ programs/dealingdogs/index.html " Each year, 42,000 dogs are sold to veterinary schools and research labs by Class B dealers, who are required by federal law to buy the animals from pounds, shelters and small breeders and to treat them humanely. However, many Class B dealers violate the law. DEALING DOGS exposes the abuses that took place at one of America's most notorious Class B dealers - Creek Kennel in Arkansas. " You can watch a preview at http://www.hbo.com/docs/ programs/dealingdogs/index.html And you'll find a full schedule of the different air times at http://www.hbo.com/apps/ schedule/ScheduleServlet?ACTION_DETAIL=D ETAIL & FOCUS_ID=600670 OR http://tinyurl.com/cukje I have not seen the show. My concern, with regard to this issue, is the suggestion that the suffering of vivisected animals matters more if they are stolen pets. Nevertheless it is reasonable to hope that a show that shines light on some of the horrors behind vivisection will have the effect of heightening viewers' distaste for the practice, regardless of the method by which the animals are obtained. And HBO should be commended for any attention it focuses on animal protection issues. Positive feedback for such shows will encourage more of them. So watch if you can, and please send comments to HBO at http://www.hbo.com/apps/ submitinfo/contactus/submit.do?title=Doc umentaries & questiontype=documentarie s OR http://tinyurl.com/d6og4
