thanks so much for the comments and suggestions about my treadmill stress

results: I appreciate them very much. I've ordered the video suggested

( " Gentle Exercise " ) and shall certainly keep you posted on progresses, and in

the meantime, I'm flailing my arms around like a Don Quixote windmill to

emulate the machine mentions, startling the cats no end! Ken, you

gently mention that lung damage may be irreversable, and you're of course

quite right, but if there's a will, there just MAY be a way, especially if the

problem is also connected to the lack of aerobic conditining. In any

event, I shall do what I can.....

BTW, I would have included my original posting and yours along with this

response except that I can't get AT it. The digests are sufficiently long

that AOL balks and makes me get at them through downloading, and for some

reason I can't READ them unless I'm offline; I haven't figured out how to

make clip and paste *consistently* work right for offline reading to ONline

reply forms. So, I hope my brief summaries are sufficient for reminders of

what the original post and the responses were all about.

love,

Helena

Hi Helena,

I really didn't mean to imply you have permanent lung damage. But certainly the

smoking would have some effect. Even when lungs are damaged, a certain amount of

capacity may be regained through exercise, usually exercises that enhance your

breathing.

So far as AOL is concerned, I haven't used it recently & forget some of its ins

& outs. Since I publish a rather lengthy biz 'ezine, I am aware that AOL cuts

its messages at 2000K ((a few pages), & I'm not surprised that you can't access

longer docs online because AOL doesn't really want you online very long. But you

should be able to cut & paste off-line if you minimize (not close) your source

document, or create 2 windows & work between them. Your sequence would be 1

highlight text you want to copy, 2. right click " copy " with your mouse on what

you want to copy, & then minimize or go to your target dock, make sure there is

a cursor there (you may have to left click on it) & then right click paste. For

some reason this is not as simple as it seems it should be, and I screw it up

sometimes too. Also, you need to save your new completed doc.

Happy clicking!

Ken

BTW, if you haven't tried it there is a chance you could open a saved attachment

while on line if you go to file, filing cabinet, scroll to the file, & click on

it (just a thought. Heven't tried it, but its a " maybe " ).
