Guest guest
Ken, all, I can't think of a better description of God for most of us: One who gives hope and perseverance. It has taken me some years, but I have learned how to differentiate between God and other people. I often blamed Him for the ungodliness of others toward me. It wasn't Him; it was just them. No, I'm not paranoid. But too often we seem to blame the uncaring attitudes and lack of listening and understanding on God instead of those who are exhibiting the behaviors that are hurting us. Another observation is found in this story: A married couple were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The wife said: " Do you remember the days when we would go driving and we would sit close to each other and you would put your right arm around my shoulders? " The husband responded: " I haven't moved, dear. I'm still sitting in the same place. " I think that we often blame God for leaving us or ignoring us when it wasn't He who turned away.
