Guest guest
Hi Tony! Finally getting around to reading all the mail instead of just looking at it. Thanks for taking the time to write. *S* I finally broke the cycle. I had some oxycodone tabs left over from my recent gall bladder surgery, so took one of them and also had some sample pkgs. of Vicks 8 hr. relief cough syrup (3tsp.dose) and took it. I very seldom take any kind of cough meds as most make me sick to my stomach. The combination worked tho! The spasms quit miraculously and have not (thank God) returned. *S* I am wondering if my cough reflex center just got stuck in the " on " mode?? This had been going on for almost two weeks! It got so bad the last few days that my throat was closing up and had to really wonder if I was gonna get another breath! Seeing Doc today. I know that he is not going to let me have any of these oxycodone to have on hand for when this crap hits again. Seems like I get this stuff like 4x a year. My Dad uses those Glade plug-ins and every time I go to his house to spend the night, I get sick. There is a history of alternaria in that house too, and know it still lives in the walls. *S* Told him he was gonna have to get rid of the plugins! He has a congestive heart condition so not sure if they are good for him. Besides, he keeps his house clean as a pin and does very little cooking and does not smoke, so don't know why he thinks he needs them. *S* Soooo...got carried away here just yakkin, but wanted to acknowledge your letter. Where are you from? I live in Ohio, but yearn for N.C. *S* God Bless, Diane.....Funny thing...allergic to codeine, but can tolerate oxycodone w/o much trouble?? Don't think I can take the hydrocodone?? Not sure. Can't tolerate cough meds w/ codeine in I know that. They gave me codeine in pill form after oral surgery and I tripped out on it! Morpheine put me into anaphylactic shock when I had broken arm surgery at age 12. Can take some synthetics...they gave me Dilaudid when I had cystocele repair...conked me out...MCS and that includes a lot of drugs! One valium will give me 10-12 hrs. of deep sleep! *L* Tony Lee wrote: > > > Hiya, Diane . > > I am new to < chronic_pain >, a transplant from the old FIDO > areas,, (Chronic pain, Ask-a-nurse, various religious, & c.) > and am sorry to hear of your coughing flare-up. Guest guest
hi Diane, How about a compromise- could your family unplug the glade plug-ins & store them in a closed plastic bag when you're there?
