Risky proposition...

I don't know if this is appropriate or not and anyone can abstain of

course. I like to associate people with places, occupations, etc. I find it

adds a degree of interest in conversation when you know a little more about

a person so I'd like to suggest the following:

Would all or some of you be willing to tell us more about yourselves ? To

sort of make things more relevant in some cases. As an example, we have

who was a trapeze circus performer ! If I were a trapeze artist, it

would add to the messages from when she talks about how she manages

certain day to day activities. We all have something in common, that's why

we're here, but surely there's more than that to unite us ?

I'll start:

- I'm 46, married and father of 3 grown kids (one more to throw out before

we're free again) and grandfather of one

- lived and studied approx. 10 years abroad (Europe, Asia, Africa)

- spent 10 years or so as an auto and heavy duty mechanic

- spent another 12 years or so with computers (resale, wholesale,

programmer and consulting)

- my hobbies are aircraft, flight simulators, leather work, cooking, oil

painting, reading (big time), photography, music (an obsession), drawing

and computers

- some of my more interesting jobs have been language teacher (French,

English and Spanish) in Spain, chef in a Greek restaurant, manager of a

pizza joint, bookkeeper for a hotel chain, owner of a garage, owner of a

crafts store, owner of a computer business

- some of the more interesting countries I've lived in are: Canada (of

course), Spain, Switzerland, France, Tunisia, India, and Bangladesh

- some of the other countries I've visited are : USA, Germany, Luxembourg,

Italy, the UK, Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Nepal, Pakistan

- things I enjoy: good friends, volunteer work (as long as I can remain

behind the scenes), eating, music, programming

- things I hate or don't enjoy: dishonesty, staying at someone else's house

overnight, travelling

- dreams I've missed or are on the back burner: visiting Hong Kong while it

was still Hong Kong and not Hong Kong, China, and visiting Australia with

an eye of staying there (and I don't really know why,... I just want to.)

That's it for me. Funny thing, as I wrote this, I suddenly come to realize

that I haven't had it all bad after all.......

Please feel free to pass on this. I just realize that anonymity has it's

rewards and we may not all be in the soul searching mode that such an

exercise can put you in. We'll just make things up about you behind your

back and we'll get to laugh at you anyway !
