THE PEARLY GATES

Three men passed away and found themselves at the pearly gates of

Heaven. St. asked the first, " Why should I let you in? " The man

says, " I was a doctor on Earth, I cured many people of diseases and

sickness and brought them much peace and happiness in doing so. " To

which St. replies, " You may come in! " And the man enters in. The

second man approaches and St. makes the same inquiry, " Why should

I let you in? " The second man says, " I was a lawyer in the world. I

defended the rights of those who were oppressed and wrought justice in

doing so. " St. replies, " You also may come in! " And the man enters

in. Now the third man steps forward and St. asks him, " Why should

I let you in? " The third man says, " I was a Health Care Insurance

Provider I enabled people to receive medical treatment when they needed

it. " St. pauses a moment and strokes his white beard and then says

to the man, " All right, you may come in … but you can only stay for

three days. "
