Guest guest
Thanks for your thoughts, Sharon. I wish I had requested the iron and ferritin labs. I'll get those done next time. The WBC count stood out to me. I was wondering, too, about the MPV way down at the bottom where 's results were 6.7 and the ref. range is 0.0-99.8. I wondered about the MID and GRAN also, since they were low for their ranges. I'm not sure what they are. Tammie > > Sorry 'bout that! Guest guest
Tammie In commenting on those different components of the CBC, I am getting way beyond my level of expertise and getting very close to medical interpretation and you know I stay clear of that...............but, When the WBC is low and some of the other components of the CBC are low, the doc begins to think about anemia or somewhere on the numberline to anemia. But, this interpretation is always done in light of the iron and iron %satuaration level and the ferritin. As you and I know, that ferritin level is super important in thyroid hormone conversion of T4 to T3 to T2 to T1. All of those little deficits in conversion occur long before the TSH catches up to the problem. Again, next year see if you can convince the pedi or FP to do the another thyroid panel (even if you get labs and values that are not up our alley) and add the iron and the ferritin. In the mean time, knowing what your history and Toby and 's history is.........push the red meat and iron veggies. It cannot hurt him and chances are, he could be headed in the same direction as you and his sibs. Maybe you can forestall some of this with a nutritional approach. Eliminate it altogether.........who knows? Sharon > > > Sorry 'bout that! Let's try again. -- Tammie > > > ______________ > > > > > > > Test Results Ref. Guest guest
That's kind of what I was thinking about the white cell count, but why is the hemogolobing so high??
