Guest guest
All I can suggest until you see your doctor is try to eat a low protein diet. Drink plenty of water. You may also ask your doctor if it's ok to take anti-oxidants like vitamin C and E with Alpha Lipoic Acid which help protect cells from damage by free radicals. But your doctor is going to tell you all they can do is try to treat your symptoms and provide relief. Unless the cause of the encephalopathy can be removed it may progress further. Guest guest
My wife was on 600mg a day. But make sure to ask your physician first. You should also take it with Vitamin C and E (in normal amounts). This was tricky for my wife, we had to find a daily multi supplement that didn't give too much of both. Because she took the ALA and C & E separately from the multivitamin. I hope, scratch that...I know you'll get better. Keep a positive attitude. Hang in there. These can be tough times and I want you to know, you have friends here. So feel free to post any question you have. It doesn't matter. We and I mean WE in the big sense, since everyone here supports each other, will try to answer any question you have. And, If we can't, we will probably research until early morning hours to find an answer. Just be reassured, you're not alone and all of us will try to help. Let me know how you do? Ok?
