Hi , from the Nutricentre - if you sign on as a practitioner (think you may

have to do this by phone - can't remember) you get stuff at a discount, they

send it straight to your pt and invoice you. She's still really well as far as I

know, although her being a party animal and this being the party season, I'm

half expecting to see her early in the new year!

Re: h.pylori

Sue, where did you get the mastic gum capsules from?

I have a patient who just inquired about such.

There is a supplement from Nutri Care or Life-Enhancement called " Bye-Lori "

which contains Mastic Gum, Thyme, Hypericum and Cinnamon which helps in the

elimanation of Heliobacter pylori. (start with 2 capsules on empty stomach

and increase to 8 capsules daily over 10 days. Then 4 capsules twice a day

on empty stomach for 3-6 months). Just go to Google and search for

'Life-Enhancement Bye-Lori'. Blood tests will confirm eradication only after

6 months apparently.

Saliva tests will show results faster (after 1 month).

When I lived in Cyprus I treated a number of patients with this problem. It

seemed to be a very common problem there. The severity of symptoms depends

on how active the Heliobacter is. From my experience, everything that

exacerbates gastritis will also stimulate Heliobacter activity. I used

Hydrastis glycerol tincture and a lot of soothing digestive herbs. Two of my

patients had already taken several courses of Amoxycillin and Omeprazole and

still tested positive 1 month after completion of this course of treatment.

I believe lind Blackwell also produces capsules containing Gum of Myrrh.

Feverfew also has antibacterial action and Thyme tea helps as well. To use

Cinnamon bark essential oil internally

it is best to get advice from R.Blackwell as well.

Hope this helps.

Thyme and cinnamon are active against H. pylori specifically, though I

don't know if they eradicate it completely. Having said that I have

encountered numerous people who have had the orthodox antibiotic

therapy for H. pylori and subsequently experienced a recurrence.

I have used these herbs (Thyme in particular) successfully together

with Hydrastis at a low dose (5mL per week) and Glycyrrhiza FE, as well

as other herbs which may be indicated for the individual.
