Guest guest
1. I also read the article in the Guardian on Saturday; did you type it all out, Krystyna, that's an impressive feat! There was a website listed at the end, which I visited, on www.healthchoice.org.uk which is an organisation called Consumers for Health Choice who seem to be trying to organise the public into lobbying MPs about the whole issue of legislation re herbal medicine/supplements etc. I don't see any reason why we, as individuals, shouldn't be using these sorts of avenues to make our views known, as well as 'official' channels via NIMH/EHPA etc. After all, we are consumers as well, who have a right to have our opinions heard, are we not? 2. On a completely different subject, I have niggling away at the back of my mind, some unretrievable information about certain tinctures which shouldn't be kept for more than a year. As some of my stock is definitely older than that, (some by a considerable length of time!) I am a bit concerned that I should be checking. I can't for the life of me remember which these are, so can anyone with a better memory than me please enlighten me? 3. Someone wrote asking if anyone had had any more enquiries following Herbal Awareness Week? I did a 'one-woman roadshow' in 4 venues (2 clinics, 2 health food shops) with a small display, some teas to taste and to sell, and leaflets. I netted 3 new patients and a number of queries. The clinics were a bit of a wash-out; despite leafletting with details, I only saw people who were coming to the clinic to see other therapists; i.e about 3 per venue (apart from one lady who came along convinced I was giving a lecture). The health food shops were very different from each other; in one there were people queuing up to see me before I got there, who were very interested, wanted to know more and booked appointments there and then. At the other, people walked past me with their faces averted and I felt as if I'd grown another, very ugly, head! I also prepared a press release which I took into my local newspaper office, who proceeded not to print it. That was a bit galling, when I saw that the local cross-stitch society had its doings faithfully reported in full! So; not a complete disaster, but a lot of effort for small return. Still, at least I can say that I did my bit! Cheers, AlisonGet more from the Web.
