Guest guest
Greetings Randy: After reading the message you posted to the list today, I thought about how I would respond. Since I am not a professional counselor the only thing I can do and this comes from my general social concern is advise you to seek professional help. So far you haven't mentioned exactly what your pain is which leaves me with little information and hardly any ideas where I can search for resources. In order to participate in a list such as this, all of us want to be understood. Granted this is a goal that you may either not understand or you might not be willing to except, that we are here to help you. The pain that you mention and the role that this pain is playing in your life right now sounds like it is very intense. You also do not mention what type of help you have tried, who you have talked to, or anything in this area. All of us on this list live with pain in some degree of severity. I hope that I am not wrong in saying that most of us are learning to deal with all our pain and at the same time we're seeking both answers, knowledge, and help. In closing I would suggest and again this is from my social concern as a human being that you seek help from the nearest Mental Health Association. Other than that I really don't know what else to say for now. Blessings ' & Peace D.

Guest guest
>>i was only looking to connect with people to talk to on this journey of knowledge to understand why-to understand what i did wrong in this life-or past lives to deserve all that fate?GOD?life? whatever you want to call it has dealt me!!!!!!!!! >> I went to some very interesting workshops this summer. And they had to do not only in dealing with pain but in healing in general. And what i head from two different speakers, and always believed myself, is those that are " healed " , not cured. (Healed being an emotional state where cured is a physical state), are those who don't waste their energy trying to figure why something happened to them. The truth is that we will never know. There are those who believe that any pain or problems that they have are a punishement from God. There are those who believe any pain or problem is a gift, something that we choose before coming to earth, etc, in order to learn lessons, become a better person. I don't think either is the whole truth but studies have shown that those who hold the second belief survive better. I personally believe that God doesn't have control over what happens to us but that He is there to help us deal with it, if that's what we want. See I kind of held your old belief system as a child growing up in an abusive home. I too tried to figure out what I did wrong to deserve all those things that happened to me. As I got older, I came to understand that God had nothing to do with what happened to me but He was there to help me heal. One last thing. The whole thing really hit home after my mother's murder. So many people kept calling and saying " it was God's will " . I told them, in no uncertain terms that the God I believe in doesn't want people to suffer and I can't imagine a God sitting somewhere going, let's have this person stabbed to death today. Anyway to get to the point, we don't alway have control of of lives and our pain, but we can gain some control over our thoughts and beliefs. ºº ºº ¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ Sucess is not relative to others. It is a feeling of love and accomplishment for yourself.

Guest guest
, & Randy, I, too, get upset when folks say that something terrible was God's will. The greatest gift that God has given to men and women is the gift of fee-will. That means that someone else can make a decision, make a mistake, that causes you life to be messed up. Not fair, but it does happen. It is a powerful thing to hold control over not only your own life, but that of others, too. The mechanic that forgets (or deliberately chooses) to not replace all of the bolts when he repairs an airplane engine, or your car, puts you and all of those traveling with you at risk. It just goes to show you how much God loves us that he even puts the lives of others under our control. From personal experience, it does not good to blame God for the problems in your life. I do believe that He loves you and me and that he is willing to take action on our behalf. The apostle asked God to take away his " thorn in the flesh " three times. Whatever that " thorn " was, it must have been at least as debilitating as the chronic pain we put up with daily. God's answer to was, " My grace is sufficient for you. " God's grace...God's gift of strength and endurance and love. Ray in Virginia ---------------------------------------------------- Reach me by ICQ.
