         (DrugPR) Hoechst n Roussel announced today,

September 11,     1998, that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration

(FDA) has     approved Arava (leflunomide) for the treatment of

active     rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in adults.

Enbrel (Etanercept) Recommended for Approval For Rheumatoid Arthritis

         (DrugPR) ENBREL (etanercept) was unanimously

recommended for     approval for the treatment of active rheumatoid

arthritis (RA) by     the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

Arthritis Advisory     Committee today. If licensed by the FDA, the

Immunex Corporation     drug will be the first entirely new approach

to treating RA     approved in the last 15 years.
