Guest guest
Receptivity101 The school board is currently trying to decide if this course should be a prerequisite for the continuing study of Altruism. Being that the board consists of one person (that being me, of course), the decision should be easy, yet in learning what I've been able about the arts involved in giving, I realise that this is an area I may have overlooked. I find myself questioning how open I have been to the gifts offered by those close to me, therefore it is my belief at this time that I will need all the input I can gather to put together a comprehensive and helpful ciriculum. This is what I see so far: Just as in the art of giving we are concerned with knowing ourselves by what we have to offer, in this course we will be concerned with knowing our center, and having the self-confidence to return to it. Trying on new Ideas can be alot like tying on shoes(had to go buy new steel toed sneakers for my new job today), we try them on and take a few steps around the store in them. If they fit, we buy them. If they don't, we put them back in the box. I found myself thinking that this shoe shopping thing is kind of fun, the worst thing that could happen is that I can leave the store in my dirty old sneakers. Are Ideas any different?....I would argue that they are not. What harm could possibly come from seeing things through a different prism? This is where the self-confidence and awareness come into play: If we know that which have to return to and are comfortable with it, then there is no fear of losing it along the way. If we don't know these things or have faith that hey will be there when we need them we will most likely be too uptight and defensive to let go for even a moment. To be continued...(hopefully by someone with more experience) Yours, Rob.....who sees much potential from both sides of the eyes of the world ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

Guest guest
Rob True generosity, it seems to me, has no knowledge of giving, of the one who gives or the one who receives. It is as much the gracious receiving of the gifts of others as it is making sure they receive one's own... Just a point of view. m
