Guest guest
Sounds to me like you have a great doctor. NeuroReplete, although expensive, is made up of amino acids and other supplements that are natural precursors to build up your neurotransmitter--Serotonin and Dopamine. Methionine is a methal donor and also supports Serotonin production, naturally. I took Prozac for many years and now use very similar natural amino acids and supplements that have completely replaced the need for the SSRIs. Be patient and work closely with the Dr. because it is a balancing act that takes time and patience. You don't want to little and you don't want too much. Hopefully you will be able to gradually taper off and let the natural substances take over. Now, as for the sexual dysfunction, you may be one of the fortunate ones where your libido and function return to normal. Unfortunately, my did not. They got worse upon stopping the SSRIs. Give yourself ample time to work it all out and I hope you are one of the fortunate ones. > > I've been taking Lexapro for over 7 years! 10 mg for most and recently (like 4-5 months) was moved up to 20 mg. My libido is NONEXISTENT! My poor husband feels like he is in the dog house every night! ha ha ha > > I went to see a holistic doctor last week to try to get weaned off of the Lexapro. She started me on supplements Neuroreplete and L-Methionine. I'm also starting Progon B (progesterone). In two weeks I'm supposed to go back and get bloood work (to check sex hormone levels) and try to wean off of the Lexapro. > > Am I on the right track? Guest guest
I've heard that supplements with 5htp (Neuroreplete in this case) help many women when it comes to pssd, so you're on the right track Also maca root seems to help some people with libido problems, you could try that out or just ask your holistic doctor about it. Good luck! > > I've been taking Lexapro for over 7 years! 10 mg for most and recently (like 4-5 months) was moved up to 20 mg. My libido is NONEXISTENT! Guest guest
I've heard that 5HTP is a libido killer similar to SSRIs because 5HTP is a precursor to serotonin.
Guest guest
Hmmm... I had no idea, after researching a bit online it seems that some people do get lower libido after using 5htp and for some libido increases. Interesting. > > I've heard that 5HTP is a libido killer similar to SSRIs because 5HTP is a precursor to serotonin. >
Guest guest
I went online and searched for Neuroreplete and there is alot of conflicting information. I don't know who to believe! Guest guest
Going on 10 years of PSSD due to 5HTP. Does the same thing as an SSRI if you take enough of it. > > > > I've heard that 5HTP is a libido killer similar to SSRIs because 5HTP is a precursor to serotonin. > > >
