I too use the names of friends in games. Those characters are also often much like what that person is really like. My friend in the army is usually a fighter type while the one in the air force is also usually a fighter type or a rogue since he was something of a clown. Other characters come from literature or anime.

Only on a few occaisions have enemies of mine made it into the games. The reason for that was very simple: none of them were bright enough to make good villians.
