In

reply to all of your emails,

I don’t

know if a chiropractor can bill “Incident’to” or what codes

they use. If you re-read the federal regulations which I attached very

carefully maybe it is in there somewhere.

You

also have to read you state regulations. EACH STATE IS DIFFERENT.

Yes,

a pediatrician can bill for the mother if he/she feels competent to provide lactation

care and is willing to do so. It requires correct documentation and billing for

2 patients per visit then, Mom and Baby. That means all the paperwork that any

patient entails for the practice, insurance, HIPA, 2 separate charts with appropriate

documentation for Mom and Baby, 2 assessments and plans, 2 co-pays to the

family if required, 2 bills. No discount for 2 patients. They are each treated

as an individual patient even though the care is inter-related and some of the

same information will be shared in both charts.

The

codes cited in the

AAP document are standard physician codes which can be used by any physician.
