Guest guest
Greetings: Because I live on a very fixed income, I have learned to pinch pennies till either the loon or the beaver grimaces with pain. Some things I do include: 1. My utilities are paid out monthly but on a balanced budget. This means the payments are equal for every month. 2. Plastic grocery bags are collected and saved. These along with my collection of glass and plastic jars are given to our local mission. They are always in need of stuff like this when it comes to food handouts. 3. I sometimes donate clean grocery bags to my local library. People always need a bag to carry some books home. Another thing I do, sometimes I save and donate those drawstring mesh vegetable bags. Many libraries have toy borrowing programs and these mesh bags are excellent for this. 4. Last but not least, I have learned to ask what is the intended use for many things. It is surprising what people will give away. Ask the butcher if he has any free soupbones, or ask what the deli is going to do with bone left over from the sliced ham? Anyway the very worst that can happen is that someone will say no that I can't have it. Peace D.
