I hate bread as a rule; I did Atkins a few years ago and went off bread then. I drool over it now because I can't have it. Plus it was just the very effective vessel of me getting as much butter and vegemite in as I could. I know that there are alternatives, but I am not interested in finding out.

I try to do the 'fill up' on correct things like vegies and meat/ fish. Then if I am still looking for something go with the treat. You have to do it to be normal, you are right. When we place conditions of foods, labelling them as special treats then they become the irresistible forbidden fruit and that is when we tend to get into trouble.
