two comments on this doc/patient deal.

I have the same problem with clients who expect me to remember them or

whatever. Sometimes I'll be in a store and the client or in one case her

hubby started talking to me. I knew that I was supposed to know them but

I could not for the life of me remember who they were. I talked for 20

minutes, just chit chatting and it wasn't until she walked up with the

baby that I finally but it all together. On the other hand clients

think i have a good memory cos I'll remember something we talked about

months ago. (good case notes).

But ordering a drug test without a person's knowledge can not in the

slightest way be considered in the client's best interest. Especially

without their consent. How would feel if your employer ordered a drug

test without your knowledge. There is no bigger way to say mistrust than

to order a drug test. I advised my client's parents when I was

counseling teen substances abusers, you can order drug tests and know

whether or not your kid is using, or you can not and therefore build a

trusting relationship and then you'll that they're not using. I would

report that doc to his superiors.
