Guest guest
Yes and no. One of the problems I had before I was diagnosed was my shins ached. I mean they really ached. Got so bad at times I did not want to walk on them and I would cry and I am no crybaby. Like shin splints to the 100th power. No one seemed to have a clue as to why. Actually most of the doctors didn't care. That was back when they still wanted to give the " pat the 40 something lady on the back and hand her some pain killers and/or antidepressants treatment " which translates to " da B***h is crazy " diagnosis. Pain killers will kill the pain - temporarily. They of course also mess up your liver. For a long time I thought it was potassium deficiency because I knew I already had that problem and it feels about the same in your legs. But when checked it wouldn't be the potassium. I had also had shin splints before and didn't know if that had come back to haunt me or what. Finally I went to the Louisville doctors. First thing I said was my legs hurt. He said that's easy. Zinc and Magnesium. Buy it over the counter. Lots of liver patients are deficient. That must have been it because I got almost instant relief to one of the problems that bothered me the most at that time. Try it - you'll like it ! Hepatologist, zinc supplements Has any one ever heard about zinc deficiency with liver disease? I saw my hepatologist today, and he suggested that low zinc can cause fatigue, and I told him I was going to ask this group if any one has been helped by taking supplemental zinc, he said that would be a good idea.
