Guest guest Posted October 16, 2004 Report Share Posted October 16, 2004 Part of the reason CSB is special is because we delve into philosophic and spiritual aspects of experience autism in personal, familial, and societal contexts. Today, we have embarked upon a political discussion that is becoming a brouhaha. IMO, that blossoming is becoming distant from the general ballparks of discussion that are making CSB a fine process. Over the years, I've been involved in enough flame wars to know they can take on a life of their own and dominate, even ruin a list's more central purpose. I'm sure that by now, someone's post in this thread has angered someone else - whether from one side or another. When we're angered, our thoughts and fingers move quickly. Over the years I've learned to e-walk e-away from arguments that are becoming too severe, even if that means the other side gets in a last dig or several, last parting shot. Then I try to focus upon posting items that are more central to the list's purpose. Thus I propose a time out, an allowing of the posts in this thread to stand as they are. Surely, we all have nuances and retorts to add, but my hunch is that no one is changing anyone else's mind. Thus let us vizualize Truce, Time Out, walking away into a field of flowers by a gently flowing stream beside a wooded hillside where birds are nesting where rabbits bask in the evening sun and a hawk circles hoping to catch an aminal off guard and two ducks ride a swell in the stream and a towering elk howls his passion amidst the trees amidst the does perpetuating the herd while the moon and sun and mountains...
