Guest guest
My wife had ascites develop the last 6-8 months of her life but didn't experience nausea with it. She was small framed and her ascites didn't put pressure on her stomach or breathing etc. Has your husband had a paracentesis done to remove the fluid? Guest guest
That's right. I'm sorry. Sometimes I forget to put two and two together with the different email names. :-) I remember asking my wifes nurse at her first paracentesis what ascites meant and if it was a bad sign. All she would tell me is the doctors gauge at how fast it returns once they do the parecentesis. If it comes back rapidly, it is a worse sign than if it comes back gradually and slowly. My wifes came back fairly slowly. So I'm not sure how much of an indicator that is. But everyone is different and this disease truly effects everyone differently. Can you ask the doctor if there is anything he can take for the nausea? Or maybe he can drink Ginger root tea? That may help with nausea as well. Guest guest
, is Brad taking anything for his nausea? or am I off base thinking he has nausea.... The doctors have been trying to treat my nausea and so far phenergan is working great. In December I was so sick, nausea was ruining everything. My hepatologist gave me what he called " the little old lady dose " , which is 7 and one half milligrams. The generic name is promethazine, but the trade name is phenergan. It is a antihistamine as well as anti emetic, so it tends to help with itching too. Re: Question ? My wife had ascites develop the last 6-8 months of her life but didn't experience nausea with it.
