Thanks Gail for thinking about Delylah..We just got her Band

TODAY!!..yes, we were supposed to go Mon. but she was running a temp.

of 102...anyhow, she is doing oh-soo-good!! I'm really glad that she

isn't thinking anything of it (for now). The band keeps shifting

tho.; it's supposed to stay above her brows, but sometimes it comes

down on them...it's a bit scary when i see her eyes are getting

crunched up..has anyone had trouble with that?? & about

sleeping..does it shift much (w/eyes being crunched or skin folded)??

and how she is doing in it. It sure was a beautiful day to be in

Dallas.

Dane had this problem when he first got his band. We just went in

for a quick adjustment the 3rd day and everything worked out well.

I would suggest calling your orthotist. We didn't have any trouble

with him sleeping in it. We worked our way up to sleeping in it. I

think he was in it 23/7 by the 4th day.

Glad to hear you finally got it and that D is feeling better!

Hey glad delylah is doing great sorry about the temp Monday that is no fun. 's doc scrunched up his face and brows for the first couple of weeks and then he grew into it and all was fine. If it is really bad call your ortho but a little scrunching is OK. Keep us posted and post pictures soon.

happy rounding!

That's great that D is feeling better and finally got her band. Sam's band shifted down over his eyes, so they ended up shaving some off from the front. They actually did this twice over the first 2 weeks in the band. The bands are always a little loose to begin with to allow for growth, but you don't want it to affect her vision, and you certainly don't want it to rub so much that it causes skin breakdown. I know you have a very long drive, so unless she is really bothered, I would probably give it a little time to see if she hits a growth spurt and it tightens up. Is her skin red where it shifts? They were hesitant to shave too much off Sam's band because they didn't want to cut away the pressure/holding point on his forehead. Have you talked to about it yet? Is she the one you are working with? If not, I would recommend trying to see her next time, just in case. Good luck, and let the rounding begin!!!
