Guest guest
Yes, we have already gone over that. I sent her plenty of other mother's experiences with this type of surgery. She was asking for a medical reference to show the doc. Is there a study out there that show's the outcomes of breastfeeding vs. waiting to heal first? Jeannine I would suggest the mother explains to the doctor that nursing is different to sucking through a straw, and then ask him for HIS references because she really would like to learn more about this. What a crock! Surely bottle feeding IS more like drinking through a straw?normaNorma Ritter, IBCLC, RLCBreastfeeding Matters in the Capital Regionwww.NormaRitter.com Join us on Facebook for the latest birthing and breastfeeding news and views:http://tinyurl.com/BMCRonFB Hello all... I have a mom who is looking for information to share with the surgeon about breastfeeding after a tonsillectomy. I know that I've heard it's ok, even encouraged, but I'm looking for a link to information to share. many thanks,Jeannine s, B.A., IBCLCSchenectady, NY

The surgeon mentioned the no straw sucking, but I know that I have read some where that breastfeeding is ok. I just need something the mother can bring to the surgeon to show that it is ok to resume breastfeeding. Jeannine
