Guest guest
I have to say that i think birthdays are a pain in the neck. It's tough enough to keep track of my relative's birthdays. Fellow forum members whom i don't even know yet, i hope will excuse me if i fail to congratulate. I personally only celebrate my birthday once every decade - and then only to make my relative happy. I refuse to let them bring flowers and presents though. But they can bring their own cake and food if they like, since i have no clue what ordinary people think is appropriate party food. (When my cousin came for a visit, i offered her some sea weed. Oddly enough she didn't like it.) :-) Holidays suck too, IMHO. Well, it's nice to have a holiday of course, but not to have to DO things due to commercialized traditions which no longer serve any logical purpose but to boost sales and stress. Inger P.S. Happy birthday anyway. ;-) Hope you had a good one.
Guest guest
I don't like to have my birthdays celebrated either. But I am beginning to realize that the older I get, the fewer of them I have left. So maybe I should celebrate after all! Tom > I have to say that i think birthdays are a pain in the neck. Guest guest
Inger and Tom, I’m not one for celebrating birthdays either. My parents used to have ‘kiddie parties’ for me and ask all the kids in the class. They would show up (or I didn’t notice if some didn’t) but play with each other and I would sort of stay on the outskirts as usual and watch. I guess it was nice for them all to get together. For my 16th I begged my parents not to have a party (everyone else had huge parties, but I wasn’t invited). I couldn’t figure out who to invite, there just wasn’t anybody really. And since then there have been no birthday parties for me other than my immediate family sometimes. I really don’t like the attention.
