Sorry didn't mean to piggyback on the holiday thread, so I started a new topic

Any feedback comments are welcome...

Only a few months into official IBCLCville and had a call from

a client that went for a 2nd opinion (with my gentle suggestion) and just as I suspected

YES baby had TT and clipped immediately

YES baby has torticollis and got referral for immediate therapy

YES dr willing to follow mom and babies progress

Baby is 3 weeks old

In ER on day 5 - blood in urine

Mothers milk delayed until day 8(as We suspected would happen due to her having thyroid removed due to cancer as a teen)

Started supplementing as nipples so sore (labial and lingual frenum)

1st non black stool at 10 days

First visit with me pp day 10

Dr never ordered hormone checks pp, left meds same even

Though mom felt crappy

Mom experiencing pp depression now on meds after screening we did in public health (even though dr knew she was having issues didn't do screening)

Referred back to dr regarding milk supply, TT, torticollis, and depression

Dr said not to worry about TT or baby refusing to turn head to the left ..."it will all work itself out". Follow up with me in 2 months...,

baby has had multiple lip blisters

Moms milk supply is still low even more now that she's been very sporadic with bringing babe to breast and or pumping.., oh yeah the flange she had was way to small....

Boy wad I glad to get the call from Mom today that said she was very happy with the dr visit and is ready to try latching baby tonight....I know it's a small step but at least in right direction and I think

The level of confidence has been risen in both mom and myself
