Guest guest
I've read several articles on the National Institute of Health website about Cyproheptadine being a possible cure. Sounds like it might actually work, although I've never tried it.Subject: Cyproheptadine? To: SSRIsex Date: Monday, May 7, 2012, 1:30 AM From a review article of sexual dysfunction: http://www.theannals.com/content/32/11/1209.short "Serotonin antagonists and dopamine agonists have been used most often to treat SSRI-induced dysfunction and have generally been effective, but controlled studies are also needed." --- What has everyone's experiences been like with cyproheptadine? It's a serotonin antagonist I believe that's used 60 min prior to sex... My husband's doc seems indifferent to the matter. He thinks time will do the trick, and doesn't seem worried. It's been a few weeks off Effexor. He was fine on Effexor, until he accidentially took 1000mg once, and has had sexual dysfunction ever since. He was also on Straterra at the time. He's been to a urologist, at a sexual disorders center in a hospital, and was handed samples of Cialis. Cialis doesn't work, as he has zero sexual interest, so he can't get an erection. He goes back in a week to the urologist to get a follow-up, and will see what his blood levels were... But he's had normal testosterone and prolactin from when he went to originally see an endo, who said his levels were mid-normal. Initially, I wanted to ask about pramipexole, but I'm afraid that will just later give hm post-dopamine agonist withdrawal. Haven't tried yohmbine yet. I just ordered him some CDP Choline, which is given for stroke victims to help heal the brain; it's a pharmaceutical requiring a prescription outside of the U.S.
