Grace and professionalism

Dear Friends,

I have refrained from posting until now, hoping that my thoughts would

gel into something cohesive and comprehensive with the help of time. I

came to this forum with the intention of learning more about the

chemistry of cosmetics, with this recent thread I have learned in

addition something about human nature.

Remember that you say about others …reflects upon yourself, and with the

speed of the Internet, even more so. To cast a shadow on the integrity

of another is so very easy to do. To make things right…takes a good

deal more effort. I had hoped for a public apology to Dr. Pappas, for

the shadow cast on his integrity by the recent thread. That this has not

been forthcoming tells me a something about the personalities involved.

, you have questioned the metallic composition of Dr. Pappas'

gonadial tissue, yet when it comes time to do the mature, professional

thing, you seem to be totally lacking yourself. We all make mistakes…it

takes a big man (or woman) to admit an error, apologize and make effort

to make it right. Please know that I have the greatest respect for your

knowledge and willingness to share it with us, but I'm also aware of your

tendency to bark first...think later.

Dee, you took the time to apologize to , Dee Dreamspinner, Maurice

and Pat on this matter, but omitted the party who was most injured……Dr.

Pappas. I have always read your posts thoroughly, knowing that

you were contributing to the common knowledge and I hope to see more of

your thoughtful posts in the future. Please know this is not about

you…it's about the accidental harm that can be done to others.

Here we are on the cusp of the " real " new millennium…and I find myself

thinking of the quote, (and I know I don't have it exactly right) … " For

tyranny to prevail all that is required is that good people to do

nothing. " I regret that I did not speak up sooner…Dr. Pappas, for this

I owe you a profound apology. You spoke to every issue with thoughtful

logic, and with more grace than I would have been capable of if I had

been in your shoes. My hat is off to you.

May the New Millennium bring us all the grace to respect each other,

learn from each other, and grow together.

Best regards,

Ann P-P
