Guest guest
Hi Steve I am Adam from montreal, I am a 25 year old male also suffering PSSD symtoms and anhedonia. My PSSD symtoms are mostly genital dullness- loss of sensation, muted pleasureless orgasm, lower sex drive. I can obtain an erection however it takes longer. I have taken synthroid for 3 years for hypothyrodism. So you think we should avoid grains overall. I was also thinking of trying amphetamines to increase my dopamine because I believe PSSD is basically a switch that is turned off however I don't want to make things worse. Anyway I wish you all the best and I hope you recover. Peace, Adam To: SSRIsex Sent: Friday, April 20, 2012 6:01:35 PM Subject: Re: Age 22 male,PSSD,POIS,Anhedonia... Yes I do know about these.Infact I'm a loooooong way ahead of all these things. I'm not gonna take any hormones.HRT is bad. It's like antibiotics with side effects. I will cure naturally with fixing the gut, correcting methylation, detoxing the liver and soon will be doing genetic testing. Will report back soon after I finished killing candida but I can tell you checking for food sensitivy is a start. I quit eating gluten 2 weeks ago and the arthiritis and fire truck red knuckles have been fully cured and restored to normal and my hands get better each day. Now imagine what impact it has in the inside of my body. You must not forget that there are people who don't suffer any kind of withdrawal from SSRIs. You must understand and accept, that we were already ill, genetically prone to things due to birth defect. By the way I think 99% of people here have adrenal fatigue. If it's not in a severe stage then vitamin C (2-4 g daily, split the doses to 4-5 during the day) + Rhodiola Rosea. If you are interested I can tell you about the stressors which hold back adrenals to heal. One of them is computer use and watching television or going to bed after 10 pm. Take care! > > About a month ago I went to a natural pharmacist and he determined that I have hypothyroidism type 2 (something I always suspected I had but doctors always told me that my thyroid test results were "normal")and low adrenal gland functioning (no surprise there). > > I mention this to you because a lot of your symptoms sound like signs of adrenal fatigue and hypothyroidism. Guest guest
Hi HikerGal Great to hear your progress. I am 25 years old and taking synthroid, plus I am a male. Do you think the synthroid might be causing my genital numbness, muted orgasm and low sex drive. When I started synthroid it improved my sex drive. I was diagnosed hypothyroid when I weaned and quit paxil, months after I went for a bloodtest and my thyroid was low, I recovered from paxil however 6 months later I started Lexapro and them Luvox which caused my PSSD. I have a friend who was put on synthroid for years and felt terrible, then recently went to a new doctor who put her on natural throid supplement and now feels great. And personally, I feel amazing since being on this natural thyroid supplement. Man-made hormones are poison. I'm living proof of that having been put on birth control pills (not for birth control purposes just to regulate my periods) at age 17 and thus suffering the female equivalency of being chemically castrated. BCP are as bad as SSRI's in my opinion!!! I too have been killing candida and have eliminated grains and sugars from my diet and have added probiotics in hopes of restoring gut health. I am also taking holy basil to couteract stress. I think the combination of the natural thyroid supplement, elimination of carbs, and the holy basil is resposible for my recent noticable improvements. After my next appointment with the natural pharmacist the plan is for me to do some cleansing since my liver most certainly needs detoxification too. Thanks for the tip about computer/bed/TV and adrenals. If there are more things that stress adrenals, I'd be interested to know about them. Sounds like you are on top of things and I'm glad to hear that you are seeing improvements and I wish you a full recovery!!
