Guest guest
I start this during prenatal consults for any Moms who are likely to have to supplement in the hospital, who do not have any risk factors for preterm delivery. I ask them to stop the session when it brings on braxton hicks. They order 5ml oral syringes with caps off amazon before our appointment, we hand express into a spoon, fill syringe daily (in fridge) until full, then transfer to the freezer. I teach them finger feeding. They bring it to the hospital in a cooler. We usually "forget" to tell the staff anything about it.I did this just yesterday with a Mom who had implants with removal and replacement of the areola. Hand expression is a great excuse to assess the plumbing! To my amazement she had 3-5 patent nipple pores per side and we got 2ml in about 5 minutes!
