Guest guest
Hello, This is a loaded question because those of us who have AS have experienced nothing different. So it's sort of like asking " What do I like best about myself? " But try comparing your life to those who don't have AS and ask yourself what's best about your AS. What I like best is my ability to get REALLY focused on something to the exclusion of all else. At these times -particularly when I write or paint, or even when I work on the construction of these boards- NOTHING else exists but me and whatever I am working on, and the time just flies like I am in a warp. Specifically, sometimes I really enjoy coming here because it is like going into a whole secret world, and I like that feeling of retreating in this manner. It's like I am feeling my AS to the max. I cannot really explain this adequately, but hope you can understand. Tom
Guest guest
Hi, I haven't got an official dx, but I suspect I am somewhere on the autistic spectrum. For me it would have to be the sense of wonder I feel about things, things as simple as staring at fibre optics, glittery shiny things or more complex things such as nature and stars the moon (and so on); I can lose myself for hours and it is bliss :-) I also think being honest and straight forward a good trait, but not everyone would agree with me. I love doing research too and learning new things, whereas many around me would consider it a chore. At college I loved doing essays, whereas all the other students would moan, I wasn't as keen on doing presentations though :-( Kind Regards, > > Hello, > > This is a loaded question because those of us who have AS have > experienced nothing different. Guest guest
Seeing what no one sees, hearing what no one hears, smelling scents no one else smells ... until I point it out for them .... watching them realize what they haven't seen before, watching them realize what they haven't heard before, watching them realize aromas and scents they haven't taken in before. Nothing like a healthy dose of obsessive-compulsive to find the little things in life that bring so much pleasure (albeit sometimes it brings upset, but usually it's pleasure). That's not all but that brief comment is enough for now. Raven > > Hello, > > This is a loaded question because those of us who have AS have > experienced nothing different.
