Guest guest
Amy and .... You have got to try this....my wife was suffering from severe allergies and since we had this installed in our house it is amazing.....this is a relatively new product....now is nationwide..I researched it a lot before trying... In any case.....check out this web site...it is called iowasterilaire.com .... the address to get there is: http://www.iowasterilare.com Please check out and let me know what you think... Best regards, amy cartebeau wrote: Hi ! My name is Amy and I'm 20 w/asthma (and a few other things). I frequently have asthma attacks like yours although I have a lot which aren't like that either. My peak flows are never great due to the impact of another respiratory condition I have. One thing that I know has helped other people is some of the longer lasting meds like servent. Also, I am not sure what they have over there in the UK but we have meds like accolate -- leukotrine inhibiters -- that work to stop the inflammatory response of something (sorry can't remember what) that sets off asthma. In addition, you may have some pre-existing stuff that just makes asthma attacks worse that you guys haven't looked at. Did you doctor do allergy tests, did the dr talk about gastroesophogeal reflux disorder (basically reflux or heartburn can make things worse), sinus infections, etc? Many of these can cause worsening /or percipitating of asthma. But all can be helped with meds or just watching what you eat or come into contact with. Also another important point is that maybe you just need to look at the combo of meds. For instance, I need to nebulizer treatments throughout the day, plus allergy meds, plus steroids, plus meds for gerd, and also meds to help prevent sinus infections. One point you made was that you were afraid to leave your house, please don't let asthma stop you. There are way too many people who are missing out on life and you are too young. To help you feel more comfortable, let the people you are with know that youhave asthma and what to do if anything happens. Maybe you can also get a cell phone so that you can call your emergency number if you do feel sick. Hope this helps! amy:) <?xml:namespace prefix = mailto /> >Hi all, > >My name is , I'm 19 years old and suffer from bad asthma, I was >only diagnosed about 18 months ago after having my first asthma attack >which was a really scary thing as I did not know what it was.
