Guest guest
Hi, I use a combination of ingredients in my lotion that emulsify and thicken. I am very pleased with my formulation and plan on having the formulation challenge tested early this year--so I would prefer to keep what works if possible. This combination of ingredients includes cetearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, PEG 150 Stearate, and Steareth 20---yall will recognize this combination as a product that RITACORP and some other companies sell. My question is this: do any of you see any problem with any of these ingredients in terms of safety in particular. I have a " laypersons " book on cosmetic ingredients by Ruth Winter that mentions something about polysorbate 60 being associated with contaminate 1, 4 dioxane which is known to cause cancer. Also, the lower molecular polyethylene glycols can be sensitizers???? This is not my area of expertise, so I am looking to the experts for clarification on these ingredients. Thankyou, Angie
