Guest guest
Well, I haven't bothered to join an asthma support group, since my asthma has been comfortably controlled , but I'm now regretting it. I just spent New Years eve at the local emergency room getting poked and x-rayed and pumped full of steroids (what a way to ring in the new year:{ (It snowed an inch last night here-the most it's snowed in fifteen years) and my asthma suddenly went haywire - same for six other asthmatics who were in the emergency room with me. Now I'm under orders to use my nebulizer with albuterol 5% every four hours until I'm breathing easier, which hasn't happened yet. I'm also using a Altrovent inhaler temporarily, along with my normal Flovent and Singulair(started on them both about two months ago after having been on Theophyline and Azmacort for five years). Is it dangerous to use my nebulizer as often as I am? Anyone have any suggestions about any other meds I should be on? I just don't seem to be getting much relief, and I can't raise my peak flow above 250 since Friday morning. I hate to go back to the emergency room because I know they'll admit to the hospital if I go back. Sorry to have made this intro so long but I'm a bit shook up right now and could use some reassurance from someone who's been here. Thanks, Hana
