Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond. I hit the area with betadine a couple of times last time before bed and covered it and this morning no discharge! So that's hopeful. Thanks Gail for the tip re benefibre - back to the chemist. I wasn't a member of a group last time round so it's nice to 'use' everyone's experience. Have moved on to 'mushies' after a week on liquids as per doctor's orders. This little band, although I am not hungry, is a different little band to the last.
