Guest guest
There's an interesting story in today's BBC health section http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3279591.stm about buckwheat grain having an impressive effect on lowering blood glucose in type I diabetic rats, and its potential for IDDM and NIDDM humans. Unfortunately, whoever headlined and illustrated the story thinks it's related to wheat. Does anyone have any further info on this in terms of traditional use, pharmacological action or otherwise. On a separate note, I would like to source some buckwheat-derived rutin tablets. I currently dispense Phytoproducts tablets, but they are sugar-coated, and also a pain to use in the tablet counter because they're so slippery. All the best, Krystyna - Krystyna Krzyzak MNIMH, North Devon
