Guest guest
I am going into due process. At first I was going to keep my child at home and school and the longer I thought the madder I got. 1. The district decided to move my child without a placement ARD. 2. The new location did not have the restroom in the classroom as specified in the IEP. 3. After installing a bathroom as I had sent a letter for Mediation to TEA, they left no room for the sensory lab that is documented and listed in the IEP. 4. There was not enough room left to put in a desk with the study carrel in the room. 5. Teacher had not been trained in the ABLLS curriculum as specified in the IEP. 6. I have taken him to his developmental peditrican and he has gained 18 months since last June. She is recommending that he be placed in a private ABA school. I appreciate the information about the FERPA and I will start that now as I am sure that everyone is very upset with me at the moment but they will get over it. in Alvin FYI BCASA (Brazoria County Autism Society of America) is helping an organization called PRIDE Therapeutic Equestrian Center with a seminar on Educational Law, titled: How to Have a Successful ARD Speakers are Special Education Attorney's; McCall & Bartice Mladenka-Folwer and Parent Advocate; Odell When: December 3, 2001 Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm Where: Lake Civic Center 333 HWY 332 East This is a FREE seminar(to anyone interested) and a great opportunity, hope to see you there!
