If u must put it this way [!] would u not agree that the ego is then REBORN -

n that is the true meaning of the [second birth] referred to in the Ntest -

not acquired facilely by dunking in a pool n calling yrself a Fundamentalist

etc. but a profound inner experience - this new golden child is the child in

us that can enter the kingdom of heaven' - it is the FRUIT of the coniunctio

n perhaps why Jung carved a child in the middle of his big stone in

Bollingen.

in jungian terms n definitions must count, only our identification w/ego has

to die. w/out an ego we lose consciousness - as in sleep or prof meditation -

but as long as we put our slippers on, break bread, n smile at another soul

we are using our ego to be conscious.

the real danger comes wh the ego identifies w/self! n then u get a huge

delusionary inflation a la Jim . There are n always have been true

saints in this world but we call them this because they have become

transparent, the identification has been clarified. there is no pride or

narcissism left. they live to give, n blessed are any of us priv to have met

one or two...

surely that is the meaning of a Bodhisattva

I was driv my grandson, age 5, to school one morn, bec is mother was giv

birth to his sister. we passed a cemetery. 'Gaga,' sez he solemnly that's the

place u go wh yr dead. But not the important part,' he added. So I asked him

wh his import part was bef he was born. The car went ar a corner n then he

hit his head w/his hand in frustration. " I forgot!! I forgot!! "

He didn't say he didn't know, he forgot.

we all are in the same boat! but little by little, intuitions, re-membering,

are given us by Sophia, the Comforter. i can only imagine that death comes

w/a delightful surprise n we can finally say NOW I remember!

can hardly waIT...!:}

I asked Edinger wh wld happen if we ceased to project n he answered u wld be

dead.so let's hear it for the ego, it enables us to function in the manifest

world, to make its wonders - outer/inner conscious, for ultimately THIS is

the only true gift each of us has to offer God and the collective

consciousness of the world!

i totally agree that Jung was nourished by Eastern wisdom - the world is

one n we breathe the air that blew over the Himalayas only a few days ago bec

of earth's rotation.

smelling the yak butter as i sign off!
