Guest guest
Funny you should bring up carnosine as I just wrote about it on another list. You can find some info at www.carn-aware.com. Results are mixed. We had success with it. Here's the post I just made to the other list: " ...After the Chez report came out, I found the company that made carn- aware and wound up speaking to a person who was helpful and knowledgeable about the Chez trial. He honestly pointed out that some kids had no response, some had hyperactivity, and some showed improvements. Some maintained improvements after stopping the carnosine; some did not. We worked out a plan for my son. He is high-functioning and was transitioning from a DOE/sped environment to a private school with no knowledge of his history and no accommodations. It was not going well. Within 3 days of reaching the 800 to 1000mg level, there was a dramatic change in my boy's ability to multitask and handle change, resulting in a much more competant and happy child. He needed to continue the supplementation daily because a break of over 24 hours caused a reduction in these new skills, most obviously in the area of coping with change. After 1 1/2 years, we tapered off and stopped. Over the next month, his skills declined and carnosine was resumed. Now, after 2 years of 1000 mg/day, he has again stopped the high dosage (altho some carnosine is in his regular supplements) and is maintaining nicely. FWIW, " ......> , > I noticed you are using carnosine. My Bioresonance therapist feels it would > be beneficial to my son. My DAN doc strongly advises against it.
