Guest guest
Dot, I'm having breathing problems also. It started about a week ago. For the last few months I thought I was 'healthy', I was breathing great!! I was thinking how I didn't remember what it was like not breathing well when all of a sudden, boom, I can't take deep breaths again. It starts in my throat of all things. It seems that my throat will produce mucus, then it just travels into my lungs. It's the strangest thing. I'm also thinking of starting on my inhaler, but have put it off..just don't want to do it anymore. I also started on lipitor for my cholesterol. Plus, I'm on synthroid for hypothyroidism. *whine* Bev
Guest guest
I'm afraid it's the season for bereathing problems, at least in the UK. And we've been having a good summer, so the pollen levels, etc, are higher. I know to expect trouble this time of year, but it always catches me out. And nowmy 12-year-old has got hayfever, for the first time in his life. I know these things run in families, but he's adopted. Just the way it goes, I guess. Guest guest
I've heard that before, right enough, about the honey. The problem is we live in one area and he goes to residential school in another, going back and forth at weekends. Guest guest
Of course, I don't know where you live, nor where your son is going to be in school, however I suspect that your local honey will provide some defense. Unless your son is going to school at one end of England and you live at the other, that will probably be sufficient. England being relatively small, compared to the US. There isn't as much variation in plant species from one area to another. If I as a resident of Tennessee, were going to send a child of to, say, Michigan, I'd be concerned. But if the child were going to stay in state, or in a neighboring state, I wouldn't have too great a concern. Of course, it is really the pollen in the honey that provides the protection, so try to get unprocessed honey. Will Sawtelle c);-}> wsawtell@... Guest guest
Actually, to have the full effect of the honey, one needs to start that month before the allergy season. It does work rahter well, if he goes to school somewhere else, get honey from both areas and mix it, it's what I would do..However, that is just a preventative with limited effect, nothing to cure an out and out asthma attack.
