Guest guest
Hi -- I've been quite the last day or so because my old server was having a LOT of problems. I've now signed up with a new company. Anyway, I just wanted to share with you a small ray of hope if you're applying for Disability. While I know the norm is that it can take a year or more and a whole lot of hassle, it IS possible for it to go smoothly -- my application did! I applied at the end of January this year and received my check yesterday for back benefits, which is about 4 months. Also, even though I only applied 4 months ago, they went back to the date my doctor said I originaly became disabled (which he timed as being when I was fired from my job for absenteeism) and provided me with retroactive disability pay for part of that time period too (and I didn't even know that was possible...) I haven't gotten my official paperwork yet, but I talked to the office twice yesterday and they confirmed (both times) that this was a done deal, so I'm really happy.. for any of you who are still dealing with the Machine, I wish you all a bit of the luck I was granted by Someone so that you can get through the system faster, too!
