Dear All,

Some advise please. 13 weeks pregnant woman with recurrent bleeding (started

week 10) of normally rusty brown blood from fairly large haematoma in womb

near the placenta. She is feeling rather frail and weak. The foetus is alive

(as confirmed by ultrasound); however I fear that if the bleeding is not

stopped soon, the chances of a successful term are not great. Herbal teas

(incl. Chinese) make her sick; Tr's are o.k. I am now treating her with Vib.

op. (in large amounts), Urtica, and moderate amounts of, Achillea, Calendula

and Trillium (unfortunately my Capsella Tr. smells 'off'), together with

some Qi and Blood tonics (Astragalus, Atractylodes and Paeonia) - my range

and supply of (western) gynae herbs is unfortunately limited. What maximum

dosages of the above can I consider? Any other suggestions?

Regards,

Dirk

Feel I am out on deep waters but wouldn´t Achillea Millefolium and

Alchemilla vulgaris be a good idea against the bleeding. If tea makes her

sick add some ginger (Know its not an incredibly healthy option but Holland

and Barrett candied ginger works a treat).

Good luck

Dear Dirk,

What about Raspberry Leaf? Although often used to tone uterine muscle in

preparation for birth it can be used to prevent miscarriage and is available

in tincture. Have had some success with this herb with a couple of my

patients.

> Dear Dirk and all,
