Guest guest
KT, I strongly agree with Gaylen on using Carole Swick. We've done AIT with Carole 3 times (started at age 5 and my son is now 10). She's a wonderful person and stays very current on autism and its issues & treatments. Our son had a lot of sound senvisitivity, which AIT helped, but it also brought him out of his shell which we didn't expect at all! Better speech, better eye contact, better staying on task & tuned in, etc. It's a $1000 ish risk you take to see if your child will benefit, and some do, some don't, like most therapies. But in my opinion, its worth trying once to see if your child will receive benefits. I know of a few people who've done AIT from her and we had planned to use her when we were looking at AIT. Gaylen Subject: AIT Does anyone in the Houston area know a practitioner of AIT? What we're looking for and what I believe AIT is ...is a type of audio training for kids with autism. Our oldest son has developed an over-sensitivity to certain sounds (sensory integration disorder). Those sounds upset him and it triggers aggressive acting out. We'd appreciate any information from those who utilized it as well as practicitioners, etc. Thanks. KT Morton
